Woodgate Chili Supper/Fall General Meeting Oct. 3, 5 p.m.
Thank goodness fall is on the way and that means Woodgate’s Chili Supper/Fall General Meeting is coming up. It is Saturday, October 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the intersection of Hedgefield Court and Bramblewood Drive, near the Little Library.
This is always a happy and relaxed event, a chance to greet old friends and meet new Woodgate neighbors while enjoying special, and maybe secret, chili recipes, plus salads and special desserts.
The Woodgate Neighborhood Association is sponsoring, during the chili supper – a non-partisan briefing on the property tax amendment by banking and finance lobbyist Kenny Pratt. Kenny’s mom, Darnell Pratt, lives on Stillwood Court, and Kenny grew up there.
After Kenny and while you are enjoying dessert, Matt Schreck will be the caller for Bingo, with winners getting door prizes from the WNA Board. The evening concludes with one piece of WNA business – two Woodgate neighbors will be asked to volunteer for the committee nominating officers for 2027. Immediate Past President Schreck will chair the committee.
Bring a pot of your favorite chili to dump into our huge neighborhood pot, plus fixings for a community salad, or you can bring a dessert. The CDC says the iceberg salad scare is over. Water will be provided, but you can bring a favorite drink. WNA will set up tables and chairs
“There promises to be much laughter and fun, and you can sharpen your Bingo skills and probably take home one of the many door prizes,” WNA Zone Leaders Chair Mike McCarron says. “We hope to see many of you there.”
(The chili supper was originally scheduled for September 26 and was moved back a week.)
