Good News: We Almost Ran Out of Ice Cream

The good news is, we almost ran out of ice cream for the Woodgate Ice Cream Social on Saturday. That really is good news, because the neighborhood turnout was tremendous – 50 to 75 people and a lot of children.

Mike McCarron, Allan Dullivan, David Ging, Karen Russell, and our other servers were so busy dishing out ice cream that no one took a head count. We did estimate that there were 35-40 people at one point, and folks were coming and going the entire time.

After the first 30 minutes, Sam Miller was dispatched to Publix for more ice cream, cones and waffle bowls. We never actually ran out of ice cream, but dispensed seven half-gallon cartons. Cones were the most popular, and edible waffle bowls second best.

The ice cream social was held at 3008 Stillwood Court. This was a highly successful summer event for WNA. The rain held out until 5 p.m., when we were shutting down anyway.

The neighborhood association’s next event is the Woodgate Garage Sale, Saturday, August 15. Never had a garage sale before? We will make it easy for you.

Yes, we almost ran out of ice cream on Saturday, and that is good news!
