Second Harvest Food Donations Collected During Model Trains Event

The Woodgate Neighborhood Community continued the tradition of giving this Thanksgiving season, collecting non-perishable goods and money for Second Harvest Food Bank. Outreach Coordinator Noreen Beattie directed the drive, which produced food donations from 31 Woodgate residents.

Residents were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to Noreen’s house or drop them off at the November 15 model trains open house at Sam Miller’s house on Stillwood Court.

Noreen says 71 people attended the model trains event, with 31 donating food items for Second Harvest. In addition, $50 in cash donations was collected.

Woodgate Neighborhood Association-sponsored events in the past have included baskets to neighbors suffering an illness or loss, cookies to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital during the Covid crisis and sponsorship of food trucks to tornado-stricken neighborhoods.
